These paintings began in the original Happy Camper Art Studio. In January 2022, the building next door caught fire and destroyed the building that house my studio. Luckily, the firefighters were able to save much of the completed and works in progress…including some of these paintings. One of my dear artist friends told me days after the fire, one of the first things to regrow are wildflowers. Creating this series was a healing process and provided a purpose for me in the hard days after the fire. While I am not fully recovered and still do not have a new space to work (unless you count my dining room table and front porch), this series marks the rebirth and beginning blooms of my painting practice.
There is something magical about these paintings. As we come out of the pandemic, life can seem pretty bleak sometimes. The bright colors and playful spirit find a way to connect with many views and bring vibrant happiness into collectors homes and spaces.
This collection started with nine, original, acrylic paintings, which quickly sold. I have added a few additional pieces that are still available for purchase and have completed (and am working on) a few commission pieces. I will retire the wildflower series on the one year anniversary of the fire, January 15, 2023.
